Beyond the confines of the alien

Immigration and social inclusion.

Circolo dei Lettori, Sala Grande | Via Bogino 9, Turin

Monday 6 October at 6.30 pm, at the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin (Via Bogino 9), we will discuss the Italian immigration question, underlining lights and shadows, efforts towards integration and persistent commonplaces. The debate will involve diverse voices: Ilda Curti, Councillor for Integration for the Municipality of Turin; Chiara Saraceno, who is among the most authoritative voices of Italian Sociology and is Honorary Fellow of the Collegio Carlo Alberto; and to conclude, Giulio di Luzio, author of the volume Non si fitta agli extracomunitari. La favola di un’Italia mite e accogliente (Editori Riuniti, 2014). The meeting will be moderated by Ornella Darova, student at the University of Turin and at the Collegio Carlo Alberto.

The evening will inaugurate the series of meetings #FuturiPossibili, a review of encounters that reflects on the new forms of social marginalisation, putting different generations face to face in a mix of authoritativeness, ability and innovation.
